Generic affirmations such as ‘I am loved’, ‘I am happy’ can end up feeling repetitive, they definitely still have their benefits and can really be impactful, but why not take it to the next level?
Here’s how I make affirmations that are personal to me:
Start by writing down your thoughts surround a specific area in your life that you want to work on, this could be health, money, love, career etc. - this is where you can be truly authentic, even if your thoughts are negative, for example “I’m not where I want to be within my career”, “I’m not happy with my body”, “my financial situation is stressing me tf out” you get the gist..
Now you’re going to cross it out! Show the universe you’re not claiming this energy any more! And underneath you’re going to write positive statements countering these thoughts that feel attainable
So if you’re struggling with finances, you wouldn’t write “I have so much money” because that just won’t fit your vibe and how you’re feeling, but instead you could write “I am inviting in opportunities to create more wealth” this may fit more because you’re open to a solution to improve your situation, continue writing different statements and affirmations until you find one that really fits how you're feeling right now. Each time you raise your emotions towards this particular goal you can do this again to change your affirmation to suit you
Another method I use is channelling an energy where I feel my best, and writing an affirmation about my feelings in that moment. It could be anything, something you've experienced, a place you've visited, a person you love spending time with etc. If you're feeling down and out, when did you feel your happiest? If you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed, when do you feel the most supported?
For me, if I'm feeling upset or stressed or I start future tripping, a good chat with my best friend always lifts me up. About a week ago I put this into practice, I was not feeling my usual self, I was stressing about the future, I was very much out of alignment! After spending time with her I felt my energy shift into a better place, so I went home and wrote an affirmation about how I felt - “I am safe, I am aligned, I am right where I need to be”.
Yours will feel more personal to you as every time you read that affirmation it should take you to that feeling and shift your energy in a positive way. Are you ready to take your affirmations to the next level?
